ITC HOTELS TO MANAGE MADHYA PRADESH’S HERITAGE DESTINATION - ‘LUNERA KI SARAI’ IN MANDU
ITC Hotels has announced a significant expansion in Madhya Pradesh with the management of the historic property ‘Lunera Ki Sarai’ in Mandu. The property will be rebranded as Welcomhotel Mandu, under ITC’s upper upscale brand, Welcomhotel.
This move marks a notable addition to ITC’s growing presence in the state, where the hotel group will now manage nearly 540 keys. This includes two WelcomHeritage properties in Pench and Pachmarhi, and three upcoming Welcomhotels in Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Bhopal. Welcomhotel Mandu will feature 94 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, versatile meeting spaces, a spa, and a swimming pool.
Mandu, a historic fort city in central Madhya Pradesh, is renowned for its ancient architecture and romantic legends. The refurbished Lunera Ki Sarai, situated just two hours from Indore, is poised to become a significant tourist attraction.
Anil Chadha, Chief Executive of ITC Hotels, expressed pride in taking on the heritage property, which dates back 400 years. He emphasized the commitment of Welcomhotel to preserve and celebrate the rich history of Lunera Ki Sarai. Pankaj Phulwani, Director of Lunera Castle Resort & Spa, highlighted ITC Hotels' renowned service standards and expressed confidence that the resort will become a premier destination in Madhya Pradesh.
